Wine and Clomid

CD 7.  Today DH and I flew out to California from Atlanta so I could cycle near the clinic and he could do a sperm freeze to avoid the fees of banking and shipping frozen sperm from Atlanta to California.  I love the non-stop Delta flight direct to John Wayne airport.  You just never know what celeb, sports star, music producer, etc. will be on that flight and who you will be sitting next to for entertainment.    He sat next to a giant, gold ring wearing famous athlete, and I sat next to a 23 year music producer who just completed a show in Toronto Canada and lives in Santa Monica.  Just real people, leading real lives of interest and fun.  Once outside, we stopped for a minute to look up and soak up the perfect blue sky, the warm breeze, the palm trees and never ending sunshine.  I took a deep breath and smiled….thank you GOD for giving us this opportunity to attempt IVF in one of the most beautiful places in the country.  After our brief, happy SoCal moment, we grabbed our rental car, dropped the bags off at the hotel,  and headed south towards San Diego. Had a great day hanging out watching folks attempt to fly at the Torrey Pines Glider Port;  we are both pilots and love all things adventure and it’s a beautiful way to spend a few hour outdoors.  Afterwards, we used tripadvisor to find a cute fun restaurant in Del Mar to dine al fresco, and as we sat down, I thought, hmmmm, can I drink a glass of wine while taking Clomid?  Wine and clomid, is that possible?   You see, I’ve never taken fertility meds so I had no idea what is legal.  So I did what any smartphone carrying person would do, I quickly googled “wine and clomid” and sure enough, there were plenty of posts saying a glass should be fine.  So I had one.  And I enjoyed it…with no fear that it would mess up this cycle.  I’m very curious to see what my follicle check shows tomorrow given that this cycle I am on clomid.  The ride back to the hotel took 2 hours, twice as long as it took to drive south.  The traffic in Southern California is unreal.  Just a whole lot of folks, living in one amazing part of the United States, trying to wrap up their fabulous weekend I suppose.  Today I thank GOD for my good fortune.
